Dr Christine Fenton

MBBS (Hons), BMedSc (Hons), FRANZCOG

Christine graduated from Monash University in 2013 (Hons), during which time she completed a BMedSci (Hons) at the Monash Institute for Medical Research and was awarded the RANZCOG Research Foundation, Bachelor of Medical Science Scholarship. Christine worked for two years as a junior doctor at the Royal Melbourne Hospital to gain more experience in specialty medicine. She commenced her specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in 2018 at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Parkville, spending time at Joan Kirner Hospital (Sunshine), Ballarat Hospital and Sandringham Hospital during her core training years.

Having grown up in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne (and even being born at Box Hill Hospital herself!), Christine always dreamed of working with women in the Eastern region. She thoroughly enjoyed her final senior training years at Eastern Health and after achieving fellowship has continued with a public consultant appointment through Eastern Health. In addition to her clinical work, Christine holds a Teaching Associate appointment with Monash and Deakin University providing education and running exams for students rotating through Eastern Health O&G.

Christine provides care in all areas of general gynaecology including management of abnormal uterine bleeding including fibroids and polyps, contraceptive advice including insertion of Implanon and IUD’s, management of ovarian cysts, endometriosis and fibroids, cervical screening/colposcopy, vulval disorders, hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery and non-surgical management of prolapse.

Christine is passionate about providing high quality care to all women, with a focus on individualised and evidence based management. Outside of work, Christine enjoys spending time with her family, including her two young children and Cavoodle, Franklin.
