Dr Allison Choong graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2005 and undertook specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at the Royal Women’s Hospital and Northern Health. Thereafter, Allison undertook advanced training with a 2-year Ultrasound Fellowship at the Royal Women's Hospital, and subsequently acquired a sub-specialist qualification in diagnostic ultrasound from the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM). She has also completed an Advanced Laparoscopy Fellowship (2022/2023) in Taiwan with the Asia Pacific Association for Gynaecological Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy (APAGE).
Allison provides care in all areas of general gynaecology such as contraceptive advice including insertion of Implanon and IUDs, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids, cervical screening/colposcopy and vulval disorders – in addition, she specialises in advanced laparoscopic surgery. She also has public appointments at Eastern Health and Northern Health.
Allison is member of the Australasian Gynaecological Endoscopy & Surgery Society (AGES), Asia Pacific Association for Gynaecological Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy (APAGE), International Society of Ultrasound of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) and Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM).
